 A major political controversy has erupted in Pakistan after Senator Faisal Vawda demanded the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The demand comes after the arrest of Dar's alleged grandson, Muhammad Raza Dar, in a high-profile gangrape case in Lahore . According to police, two foreign women—one from the Netherlands and the other from Venezuela—were allegedly abducted and gangraped on June 29 in Lahore. Four suspects have been arrested so far, with Muhammad Raza Dar identified as the prime suspect . Police sources claim that Raza Dar met the two women in Singapore last year and arranged business visas for them to travel to Pakistan. The accused is reportedly involved in a cryptocurrency venture with the victims . Senator Faisal Vawda has accused both the federal government and Punjab administration of attempting to shield a politically connected suspect.
